Day 1
Day 1
- In your own words, describe what you learned today.
Today I learned computing concepts: Computer Science, Algorithm, Boolean, loops, iteration, function, programming, and variable. I learned when
using comparators, to check whether two variables are equal, you have to use "==" instead of "=". Using “=” sets the value of a variable,
rather than checking it.
- Alum Camp:
- Describe what you worked on today
Today I brainstormed project ideas. I’ve been looking into making Battleship using Python. The project would require arrays.
- You participated in several projects today! List your favorite experience and tell us why it was awesome.
The review game was awesome because it was informative, and a good way to start conversation with the other campers.
- Alum Camp:
- List your project idea/s.
Battleship, black jack, or hangman on python. A bag on Lilypad.
- What will you be building this week?
Battleship
- Reflect on your experience:
- Did you do anything new today? Things you've never tried before?
I learned some new computational terms. Today was my first time using virtual reality.
- Will you be able to apply the info to new situations?
Yes. The texting while driving simulation demonstrated the horrific and unnecessary risk of using the phone while driving. I will apply what I
learned to remember and help others be safe while driving.
